Sneak Peak of Our New Showroom

As we settle into our new location on the waterfront, we are continuing to develop our on-site showroom and design studio… a creative place for clients to get inspired and collaborate with our team on the concept development and design of an event. Here are a few photos of our work in progress:

Portland Center Stage’s Groovy Gala

A groovy time was had by all at Portland Center Stage’s 2011 Gala this month:

It’s a Mod, Mod, Mod, Mod, World

Guests entered under an illuminated truss system that created the platform for a 12’ DJ tower. Tie-dye drape and bean bags encircled a holographic dance floor set beneath a mirrored ball treatment that descended from the 40′ framed ceiling. The mezzanine featured ultra-lounge seating surrounded by Op Art and iconic memorabilia from the era.

WCEP’s design team created two custom drink stations for the evening: a hippie bus with light-up head lights and a dedicated John Lennon bar encased with vinyl records. Art of Catering was at their best showcasing their Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Seafood station.

Fly Away With WCEP

This week, WCEP and their Las Vegas branch – Hollywood Event Design Group – travelled to Southern California for an evening in an airplane hangar hosted by Cessna and TWC Aviation.

3 Cessna aircraft models were on display surrounded by a 350 square foot perimeter of up-lit white chiffon and tall white urns with agave plants. To add to the ultra-lounge feel of the evening, the hangar was interspersed with white tufted leather lounge seating with green accents and WCEP’s new white “O” vases with calla lily arrangements.

Bollywood at Portland Center Stage

For Portland Center Stage’s 2010 Gala, WCEP transformed the lobby of the Gerding Theatre into a festive Bollywood-themed bash. Guests entered the event under a 12 foot tower that showcased Bollywood films and were greeted by Bollywood dancers. The perimeter was lined with plush lounges, each displaying unique colors and sheer fabrics accented with hanging beads. Indian food stations were catered by The Art of Catering and above head, an umbrella of fabric and lanterns were draped from the 40 foot ceiling to create a magical canopy over the entire set.

Chinese New Year

WCEP designed the Chinese New Year celebration at The Nines, complete with a traditional Lion Dance and make-your-own Fortune Cookie station.

Highlights include a bamboo and hanging lantern-lined entrance, giant foo lions, and a wishing tree at the center of the room.

Through the Looking Glass

WCEP helped the Nines Hotel ring in 2010 in Mad Hatter style. Check out photos (by Holland Studios) from our “Through the Looking Glass” theme.

WCEP at Venue Pearl

This Portland-area web development firm celebrated the end of the year  in style at Venue Pearl event space. WCEP transformed the space into a modern ultra-lounge with a white, silver, lime and blue color palette.

The 25′ bar, illuminated in deep blue, was the focus of the room and provided a backdrop for the DJ and karaoke stage.

WCEP’s capri kiwi satin linens and custom centerpieces topped the tables that surrounded an all white dance floor.

Our  4′ iron trees, painted in white lacquer, wrapped in mini lights and embellished with  lime green ornaments, and  blue and green glittery accents provided extra holiday flair.

The Perfect Holiday Recipe

For Reed College’s Holiday Alumni Party this past weekend, WCEP created a life-size gingerbread house garnished with gum drops, peppermint trim and a candy cane lane. The scene was frosted with snow and sugar trees (created with our crystal beaded trees that can be uplit in any color).

Got a sweet tooth? We were amazed by the ginger-creations in this year’s Grove Park Inn National Gingerbread House Competition in North Carolina.

Twelve Days of Christmas

12DaysofXmas12TreeChristmas has arrived at the Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand Ronde, Oregon!

A partridge in a pear tree, two turtle doves, three french hens… and on it goes. WCEP’s design team created Twelve Days of Christmas in the casino’s lobby with twelve unique trees, each trimmed to correspond with a verse of the classic holiday melody.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

For the tenth year in a row, West Coast Event Productions helped deck the halls of the Oregon Convention Center for Providence’s annual Festival of Trees – a holiday festival decorated with more than 100 trees, wreaths and holiday vignettes created by local designers, businesses and volunteers. Proceeds support critically needed health care for children and adults and leading-edge research at Providence Health & Services.

Partnering with the Gately Academy, WCEP designed a red and gold christmas tree with poinsettias, bells, oversized ornaments and the message “Believe.”
